Grad Week, Midyears and on….

Everything is going by so fast this year! Can you believe that we are almost already finished January?!? Last week was a week full of fun and laughter for our graduates. The smaller events such as Hipster Monday, Twin Tuesday and Throwback Thursday brought in some great laughs and epic costumes and showed the Mountain Community what the Class of 2103 is all about. But the real fun came in the much more prominent events. Tuesday’s Grad Auction was a huge success, with some lucky students bidding their lunch money to have lunch next week with the grads up for sale. Wednesdays Grad Bowling was a huge success as well. A large percentage of the class participated, and from costumes ranging from barcodes to thrifters, sheep and princesses; even some very mean girls couldn’t hold back the laughter. Finally, Friday’s Grad breakfast and PJ day brought the grads to school at 7:30am where they were greeted by teachers who came to school extra early to flip some pancakes and cook some bacon. This time of year also brings up the much disliked topic of exams. Lots of classes will be having Midyear exams over the next few weeks, and we say good luck to all of those who will be writing them. Finally we now look forward into February. With 3 4-day weeks in a row, there will be lots of time to get rest on our Pro-D Days and Family Day. And we also have Dancing with the Teachers approaching quickly! Talk to Mr Rolph or any one of us Student Council members if you’re interested!

Good Luck Lions!

Welcome to 2013!

Welcome back to school Lions! We have survived our first week of school in 2013!

January is already proving to be a busy month. Over the past few and next few days our Grade 12 students will be having their Graduation photos taken at Artona, and for these lucky individuals its starting to sink in that they only have 6 more months of high school left. In a few weeks we will be having Grad Week, celebrating the achievements of our oldest students. Grad Bowling, Grad Breakfast and the annual Grad Auction are just some of the activities to name a few. A quick reminder to grads, if you have not paid your Grad fees yet, please do so online or to Ms Barr in the office. We also would like to wish good luck to all those who will be writing mid-year exams in the next few weeks… study hard and you will do well! Also good luck to those taking provincial exams at the end of this month, specifically the AP English 12 students. In just a few short weeks, we will be in the middle of February and whats that will be upon us? Oh yeah, thats right. DANCING WITH THE TEACHERS! This has become a tradition at Mountain, one that always brings enthusiasm and good times to the gym at lunch. Friday February 15th is the day, and talk to Mr Rolph or any one of the Student Council members if you and a teacher are interested in participating.

Exciting times await all of us at BMSS the next few weeks!
